Bellow blacklash-free couplings from R+W company are made of clamping hubs permanently connected with stainless steel bellows. The specific shape of the bellows makes it highly flexible laterally while maintaining high torsional rigidity and low inertia. Some models of bellow couplings come in several lengths. Longer bellows result in better compensation of shaft misalignment, but also in lower torsional stiffness.

Bellow couplings offer different hub variants to ensure optimum mounting in any application. Clamping hubs can optionally have a groove for key connections. Custom versions available: different hub material, higher balance, ATEX.

MK series

Application

Bellow couplings are used in applications that require high torsional stiffness, low backlash, low inertia and the ability to compensate for connected shaft deviations. Typical applications: stepper motors, servo motors, encoders, pull screws, torque meters, blacklash-free gearboxes.

For applications requiring high speeds and high acceleration, lightweight, high-performance couplings (high speed couplings) are ideal.

R+W has a wide range of low-torque inertia couplings that are precisely balanced.

The miniature model of the MK’s couplings (max. torque 10 Nm) can be used in 120,000 rpm applications thanks to its symmetrical design and ISO1940 G2.5 balancing.

In devices where the combined elements are distant from each other we can use ZAL transmission shafts (max. torque 800 Nm), which are made of bellow couplings and carbon fibre pipe.

Shaft lengths up to 6 meters are made without external support. The last group of ultralight solutions are SL torque limiters (max. torque 700Nm), which are characterized by a compact and lightweight design.
