Chiaravalli’s sliding overload couplings are simple in design and operation.

- +

Chiaravalli’s sliding overload couplings are simple in design and operation. They allow slippage between the driving and driven element when a critical torque is exceeded. The slip phase causes a decrease in speed and transmitted torque, thus protecting the drive system against overload.

Torque control is possible in a wide range from zero value. It consists of changing the tension force of the disc spring pressing on the friction discs. Depending on the size of the coupling, the adjustment is carried out by means of circumferentially distributed screws or a central adjusting nut. The desired torque value is experimentally selected by increasing it successively until sufficient driving force is achieved in the system.

Two versions are available:

LC Series

  • drive transmitted from shaft to sprocket
  • transffered moments up to 1800 Nm
  • shafts’ diameters: 7-65 mm

LCG Series

  • shaft-to-shaft drive
  • transffered moments up to 1800 Nm
  • shafts’ diameters: 7-75 mm

Sprockets are not included in the standard equipment of the LC coupling. They are sold separately and can be adapted to the selected coupling model.

Maintenance parts are available from stock.
