Motovario Variators are a stepless gearboxes that use friction discs to transfer torque. It is a module that is located between the electric motor and the gearbox. The variator is used to smoothly change the speed of the drive system, so it is a convenient alternative to inverters.
Stepless gearboxes are marked with TXF, S, VH, VHA symbols. Depending on the model, they have powers ranging from 0.12 kW to 9.2 kW. In conjunction with a sample 1400 rpm fixed speed motor, the Motovario variable speed drive can be used to adjust the output shaft speed from 150 to 1000 rpm.
Archimedes offers Motovario variators, whose gearbox components are enclosed in a compact and durable casings. This can be made of die-cast aluminium or cast iron. Depending on the model, the final finish is either surface passivation or a thermoset epoxy resin coating. It protects the case of the variator against environmental influences.
