When rewinding the material it is important to maintain a constant ribbon’s tension. Too strong – a tension stretches the material and destroys it, too weak – a tension does not allow for accurate positioning as intended.

Erhard Leimer manufactures a range of tensioning system for measuring the material tension. The ribbon’s material passes through the device, the tensioning system measures the tension force and gives a signal to the drive through the controller, slowing down or accelerating it.

We offer PD21/22, PD23/24, PD25 flange tensioning systems. They act as a typical bearing unit and measure the material tension. They are available with rolls’ diameters from 12 mm to 65 mm. These systems measure tension in the range of 0.05 kN – 10 kN
