The LP series disc couplings from R+W are made entirely of steel.

- +

The LP series disc couplings from R+W are made entirely of steel. The coupling is made of several layers of high-strength spring steel. The layer structure provides high torsional stiffness and flexibility to compensate for misalignment of the connected shafts. The force restoring balance is low. Thanks to the modern design of the plate joints, it has become possible to use ordinary screws as they do not transmit shear forces, but only pressure forces. The coupling is not subject to use during normal operation and is maintenance-free.

Couplings with one joint have a compact design and allow to compensate for angular and axial deviation. Couplings with two plate joints also compensate for radial deviation and allow the use of intermediate elements of different lengths.

Disc couplings are used in applications requiring high torsional stiffness, high mechanical resistance and the ability to compensate for shaft misalignment. Typical applications: pumps, mixers, conveyors, rollers, fans.

Special version of LPA made according to API 610 standard is designed for use in mining and petrochemical industry.

R+W disk couplings can be used in potentially explosive environments  (ATEX zones) with temperature from -30°C to 80°C. The protection class is in accordance with ISO80079-37 ignition protection standard “h”. (constructional safety). According to Directive 2014/34 / EU (ATEX), disk couplings are considered to be equipment, which means that they have a CE mark and an EU declaration of conformity. Thanks to the certification for category 2/M2, they can also be used as category 3/M3 devices. The use of such couplings, cancels the need of separating zones in the whole machine.
