Gear couplings manufactured by R+W belong to the group of torsionally rigid couplings.

- +

Gear couplings manufactured by R+W belong to the group of torsionally rigid couplings. They are characterized by their compact design and relatively high rated torque.

The most common versions are double-cardan couplings consisting of three main parts: two hubs with external teeth and a sleeve with internal teeth. The hubs have arched teeth, which allows them to move relative to the sleeve and, as a result, compensate for angular, radial and axial deviations of the combined shafts.

In simple toothed coupling models, the sleeve is made of self-lubricating plastic, so the coupling is simple in construction, inexpensive to purchase and maintenance-free.

For more demanding devices, all steel couplings are used. The sleeve is equipped with metal-rubber sealants, which enables filling the interdental spaces with lubricant, which is necessary for proper operation. A horizontal working position is permissible.

Single-cardan steel versions are also available on sale, consisting of external-toothed hub and an internal- toothed cup.
