Precision shafts are the most economical linear guidance system.
Precision shafts are induction hardened. This type of machining provides a uniform surface with a hardness of HV 697 – HRC 60. Stainless steel is subjected to a more rigorous process (to prevent excessive internal tension) which provides a surface hardness of HV 595 – HRC 55.
Precision shafts are available in various designs:
W – induction hardened and polished shafts shafts (metric)
WZ – induction hardened and polished shafts (inch)
WV – induction hardened and chrome plated shafts (metric)
WVZ – induction hardened and chrome-plated shafts (inch)
