The manufacturer’s PVC belts are usually made of one or more polyester reinforcement tie rods, thermoplastic layers and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Depending on the chemical composition of the thermoplastic layers and the construction of the tie rods, PVC belts may have different properties such as:

  • flame-resistance
  • antistaticity
  • quietness
  • resistance to vegetable and animal fats (food approval)
  • appropriate hardness of the base layer (usually 65-80ShA).

If the belt is made of flexible tie rods, it can work in the so called basin. The purpose of PVC belts is very different from horizontal transport and buffering of goods to transport on angled and bent conveyors. Therefore, the top layer of PVC belts can be smooth or have one of many load-bearing structures such as: super gripp, check/waffle, fishbone, saw structure. Depending on the type of transport, these structures may reduce or increase the adhesion of the product to the belt. In addition, the surface of PVC belts can be provided with openings, integrated pickups, guide wedges or side frills.

Depending on whether the belt runs on rolls or on a sliding table, it can have a fabric, check/waffle structure or smooth PVC surface on the underside. This type of belts are most often welded in a circuit in special presses or mechanically joined with Anker or Alligator clips. Due to their popularity, PVC belts are used for transport in almost every industry.
