Helical-bevel gearboxes are a type of gearboxes consisting of at least two reduction stages, one stage being bevel gear wheels and the next being helical gear wheels. A helical-bevel gearbox is a bevel gearbox. It is characterized by very high efficiency reaching 97%. The main advantages of helical-bevel gearboxes include high resistance to bending and their silent running. Depending on the gear ratio, we have two-, three- and four-stage gearboxes.

Watt Drive helical-bevel gearboxes are marked with K.

Watt Drive supplies helical-bevel gearboxes in several versions:

  • flange-mounted gearboxes for IEC or NEMA standard electric motors
  • flange-mounted gearbox for servomotors
  • gearbox with integrated motor
  • a reducer with an input shaft with a keyway.

The gearing range of Watt Drive helical-bevel gearboxes is from I=5.5 to I=8900.

An important advantage of helical-bevel gearboxes is also the possibility of output configuration:

  • hollow shaft with keyway (two diameters available)
  • full shaft with keyway (single or double sided)
  • smooth hollow shaft with clamping ring
  • hollow shaft with multi-keyway
  • smooth hollow shaft with reduction bushings and clamping ring
  • foot, flange or reaction arm mountings
